Our outdoor education program, Explorers, is designed for children aged 3–5 and centers on nurturing curiosity, creativity, and connection through hands-on, play-based learning in nature.
Children are encouraged to explore, engage in sensory play, storytelling, movement, and social interaction, guided by the changing seasons and their own interests. With an emphasis on emotional development, relationship-building, and early environmental stewardship, experienced educators create a safe, joyful space where children can learn and thrive—rain or shine.
At Mountain Minis Childcare, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child in our care. Our childcare experience is designed to promote each child’s individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Our programs educational approach emphasizes “active participatory learning”. Active learning means students have direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events and ideas. Children’s interests and choices are at the heart of our program. They construct their own knowledge through interactions with the world and the people around them. Children take the first step in the learning process by making choices and following through on their plans and decisions. Educators offer physical, emotional and intellectual support. In active learning settings, adults expand children’s thinking with diverse materials and nurturing interactions rather than sample worksheets and directions.
